Installation Recommendations
For optimal braking performance and safety, PowerStop recommends the following during installation:
- Inspect the brake pads and rotors when replacing the calipers. Worn or damaged calipers can cause uneven brake pad and rotor wear.
- Inspect the brake hoses and replace any that are worn, cracked, or damaged to prevent brake fluid leaks or contamination.
- Test the condition of the brake fluid. If excessive moisture is present, flush the entire brake system before installing the new caliper.
- Apply Blue Threadlocker to the caliper bracket mounting bolts to help prevent loosening caused by vibration.
- After installation, bleed the brake system thoroughly to remove any trapped air from the hydraulic system.
- Once the system has been bled, refill the master cylinder reservoir with the manufacturer-recommended brake fluid.
