While camshaft phasers offer tremendous efficiency benefits, they also have some limitations when it comes to performance camshafts. In turn, COMP Cams has developed the US patented cam Phaser Limiter and Lock Kits for Chrysler Hemi 5.7 L, 6.1 L and 6.4 L V8 engines. The limiter kits limit Maximum camshaft phasing to 14 crankshaft degrees (7 camshaft degrees) to provide the needed piston-valve clearance when using larger aftermarket camshafts. Meanwhile, lock kits take all the movement out of the phaser. Combining these performance modifications with more aggressive camshaft profiles results in greater higher RPM gains without sacrificing lower or mid-range performance.
