P series rod bearings are the oldest members of the Clevite 77 performance bearing family. They are intended for high-speed engines, especially those in which the high speed causes the rod bores to narrow. To compensate for this distortion, these direct replacements have a higher eccentricity and a high crushing factor. Clevite P series rod bearings are built on hardened steel backs with extra thin overlays, and their lower parts have dowel holes for use with aluminum rods, and additional clearance variations are available with an additional clearance of 0.001 inch.
