Timken's wheel end system is a self-locking, integrated package bearing with Active sensing technology that provides design flexibility and simplicity of Bolt attachment. This hub construction improves rigidity and braking performance, reduces the weight and size of the casing, reduces assembly costs, and reduces warranty claims.

Functions

• Integrated bushing and hub increase stiffness by up to 30% compared to conventional systems. Also eliminates the discrete race variables between the bearing and hub, reducing the preload adjustment range;
  
• Narrow overall width of the package and reduced thickness of the radial sections reduce unsprung weight, improving vehicle maneuverability and fuel economy;
  
• Features a pre-sealed, pre-greased and pre-set bearing package design with integrated sensor technology for anti-lock braking systems, total traction control and Vehicle Dynamic Systems;
  
• Hub-forming technology reduces the load on components and the costs associated with purchased parts and labor. Also allows communication between powered and non-powered designs;
  
• Fully serviceable wheel speed sensor (if applicable) is mounted internally and protected from road hazards, dirt and possible damage.
