Installation Tips

• ReplacePower Steering pressure and Return Hoseswhen replacing the power steering pump. Steering hoses can degrade internally and cause contamination in the power steering system, which can damage the new power steering pump
• Where applicable, replace thePower Steering Reservoiror clean the internal filter
• Completely flush the system with an OE approvedPower Steering Fluidprior to installation (the correct type of fluid is noted on the reservoir cap or in your owner's manual). Flushing the system is critical to prevent system contamination and failure
• Consider replacing theCall(found in theBelt Drivecategory). Modern belts wear gradually and become less efficient, which can put strain on the Power Steering Pump and other belt driven components
• Install the pump and all supplied o-ring seals according to installation instructions, to prevent leaking
• Consider installing aPower Steering Filteron thePower Steering Return Hoseto prevent system contamination and extend the life of the power steering components
• A replacement Power Steering Pump can whine or make noise until air is purged from the fluid. Bleed the system during installation to prevent noise and extend the life of the steering components
